Three indoor cats, multiple litter boxes and endless hair create constant cleanup. This doesn't even cover the items knocked off counters and tables. It doesn't portray the nastiness of
gluck-
gluck (cat vomit) stains on carpet. We have been discussing not replacing the three cats as they die their natural deaths. We are now dog free (thanks to people who live in the country) and never want to go there again. Being completely pet free would be odd but cheaper, cleaner and less maintenance. Vet trips are expensive but necessary from the spaying or neutering to vaccinations and illness visits. Ah - but there is so much love for these cats!
What about one cat? There are still the issues described above just on a smaller scale. We're not sure at this time. It will probably be some years before we have to face a cat-free home. For now, we are trying to keep an open mind. I've had fish, lizards, a snake, hamsters and a dog. I have no desire for any of those things again. And now cats - well - we'll see. In their opinions, they're no trouble at all.
